If RHIDE refuses to put a breakpoint is because gdb is refusing it. You are most
probably using:
a) The wrong debug information (gstabs3+ is the best for djgpp programs)
b) Just putting the breakpoint in a wrong line (optimized one? wrong line of a
multiline sentence?)
