I got the same problem, and could not fix it.
I was really pissed so I simply changed the rhide binary to say gxx instead
of gcc at all references
that was rather drastic measures, but it all works now.
I agree that it is probably a bug because I also tried messing with
djgpp.env and nothing changed.
