Before you make any random numbers, seed the algorithm with
  srand(time(0));
in c that'd be
  int x;
  x = (rand() % 79) + 1;

Anything that doesn't look DJGPP-specific can also go to
comp.lang.c or one of the "learn C" groups (name?)
but they get really ticked when you mention OS specifics.
