Section 8.7 of the DJGPP FAQ will help you. This is one of the most asked
questions on here.

DO NOT DO THIS! You are very likely to break things further on down the line.

Most of the people that are on this newsgroup ARE the developers of the free
tools that you so eloquently call "vague". The only reason you are facing the
troubles you are is because you haven't read the DJGPP documentation. Please
search through the FAQ (which, BTW, answers over 200 questions, I don't think
that could be called vague), and if you don't understand that, then come back
and ask a question. We are a friendly bunch, but some questions just seem to
reoccur so many times (as you'll soon find out if you stick around).
