What version of Vim is this? I downloaded a new-ish version, and it
was horrible, big mouse cursor, annoying banners on the screen, it
seemed very wierd, not like the stoic, ascetic Vi I'm used to. 

Ideally I'd like a Vi that's just like the Unix Sys V one on a
terminal, only with syntax highlighting, you couldn't spare a vimrc,
or something?
