That was not the original posters question. Ho said when he tried to compile
he was getting a "no such file or directory" message. This means one of two
things:

1. The shell is not finding gcc which means that he hasn't added the correct
lines to his autoexec.bat
or
2. The source he is trying to compile is not in the current directory.

It's very difficult to help the original poster as he didn't specify which
of the above problems he was experiencing.

Just because the file is a c++ source file does not mean it needs to be
compiled with gxx. It only needs this if it uses standard c++ libraries (ie
streams and such).
