>Which is one is a better IDE...Rhide or EMACS?

That's a very controversial subject and has been discussed (read: flamed about) on this ng
numerous times. Anyway, I'll try and give a brief description of each and stay unbiased (I
admit, I like emacs better).

RHIDE:
Clean and simple. Lots of nice features:
            *Syntax highlighting (many languages)
            *Built in debugger
*Integrates seamlessly with DJGPP (and plain gcc on linux)
*Nice error reporting features (ie jumps to the line the error is on)

EMACS:
All the features of the orignal GNU Emacs. It has all those things that made Emacs
famous when Richard Stallman (I did get his name right didn't I?) wrote it. They are too
numerous to mention. Emacs has a slightly confusing interface, and has quite a learning
curve (I'm still learning :-)), but in the end it has a lot more power.

It all depends on what your personal preferences are. If you like IDEs like QuickBasic and
the Borland IDE, then you'll love RHIDE. On the other hand, if you enjoy having complete
control over everything you're doing and you have a strange affinity with GNU products (as
do most of us :-)), then Emacs is the go.

Whatever you choose, you'll be happy with either of them.

Was that unbiased enough???? I really don't want to start a flame war.
