I suggest to go to the zip-picker page 
(http://www.delorie.com/djgpp/zip-picker.html) and follow the prompts; it 
will tell you what zip files will you need for whatever you intend to do 
with DJGPP.

This depends on what you download.  The DJGPP FAQ list has approximate 
disk space required for popular packages.

The last versions you find on SimTel are stable.  We don't release 
unstable versions (at least not knowingly) and if grave bugs are 
reported, they are corrected immediately.
