It is a DOS limit (of 126 characters) but the faq says that the latest
versions of the binaries work round the problem.  I'm now using the
latest stuff but the problem still happens whether I'm in a DOS shell
or not.  It's the Windows 98 DOS shell so it must be the latest
version.

Any other ideas :o)
