getch() is non-ANSI, non-POSIX, as is kbhit() and the other schemes commonly
used for "hit any key..."    Almost every real world implementation offers
something up this line, but slipping getch() into C++ is no greater a sin
than using it in 'Standard C'.  Go ask the resident flamethrowers on c.l.c.
