Uhmmm...I'm not sure what you're doing, but I'll give it a stab...  If you
are compiling a C++ program (.cpp extension), use this command-line in DOS:

gxx hello.cpp -o hello.exe

If you're compiling a C program (denoted by the .c extension), use this
command-line in DOS:

gcc hello.c -o hello.exe

I don't see what you could be doing wrong...
