when i run make in the allegro directory i get many messages of the form

"lib/djgpp/liballeg.a(vbeaf.o)(.ext+0x735):vbeaf.c: undefined reference
to
'append_filename'" or the same message but with 'get_config_text'
instead
of 'append filename'.  can anyone help me with this?  i'm starting with
'alleg311.zip' and 'wall30w8.zip'--could there be a conflict between
these
2 and have i installed incompatible files by unzipping both of these
files
in my djgpp directory?  thanks for any help anyone can provide.
by the way i'm trying to learn how to use allegro with a view to
developing
a real-time screen display of a fourier transform power spectrum of an
audio input signal to use in biofeedback voice training if that rings
anyone's
bells.
