Basically, the sections of the wattcp library  code that translates/handles
socket calls for the "News:" and "FTP:" fuctions doesn't seem to work. A number of
people who are working on the DOS port current version (2.8) have tried fixing the WATTCP source code but with no sucess.

Suggest subscribing to the lynx-dev mailing list in order to get a better understanding of the djgpp WATTCP
library problems.
