ar is the GNU library manager, it can be found in v2gnu/bnu2*b.zip where you
have found DJGPP. You probably already have it. If not, you should have
anyway it if you do any serious programming.

In the library is a .tar.gz (IIRC), which you can unpack with djtarx.

Hope this helps. But don't shoot me if I'm wrong... :-) It's some time ago I
worked with .debs.
