Do a text-mode version of Tetris, Pacman or Space Invaders. The PC has
loads of strange graphics characters below ASCII 32 and above ASCII
127. Use the 16-colour text mode, and the PC speaker for sounds.

I wrote my own textmode Space Invaders (actually it was for a
green-screen terminal so there was no graphics mode) when I started
learning, and it was fun. And I started Tetris to see if I could work
out how it would work but never finished it. The algorithms for them
shouldn't be hard to work out.
