Yes. And I should have seen it much earlier, sorry:

REM Borland JBuilder
c:\JBuilder\bin\setvars.bat c:\JBuilder

REM DJGPP
set DJGPP=C:\DJGPP\DJGPP.ENV

Before setting djgpp you run a batch file: setvars.bat
As strange as it seems, the part after that never gets executed. Dos just runs 
setvars.bat and that's that.

You have to options:
place set djgpp... before setvars.bat
or:
change c:\....setvars.bat to "call c:\..setvars.bat". That way the part of 
your autoexec.bat after setvars.bat will get processed.


Now that MUST work. Sorry for leading you in the wrong direction in the first 
place.
