could someone please explain to me how size_t works please?

its declared as a unsigned int in the header and its stated to be the type
that is returned by the sizeof() operator .

ie. when you decalre a variable to be of type int at compile time it sets
aside 2 bytes for the integer to be stored . What happens when you declare a
variable or function to be of type size_t ??

I cant seem to find any info about this type not even in my programming
books . thnks in advance .
