Sorry to not post about this sooner, but I have been waiting for
the OK from Julian Seward to make the announcement. I got his
authorization this morning. Bzip2 0.9.0c has been ported to DJGPP
including some handling of filenames. There aren't any crashes due
to the filename, and some of the original filename is preserved. DOS
attributes and timestamp are also preserved. The file with the binary
and the patch to the original code are available from:
"http://www.rahul.net/dkaufman/bzip2-0.9.0c-DOS.zip" or
"ftp://ftp.rahul.net/pub/dkaufman/bzip2-0.9.0c-DOS.zip"

This has only been tested on straight DOS. I believe that long filenames
will probably be preserved under Windows9x, but I haven't been able to
test this.
