Isn't it painfully obvious?  ifstream and ofstream are unidirectional file
stream objects.  I'm basing the correct behavior on what other C++ compilers
do, and what common sense dictates.  I don't know of all versions of GCC have
this bug.

Thanks.  I did not expect to find such information under that section.  I
don't think it belongs there.

Thanks, another option I was looking for.

Something I forgot to mention is that the compiler had a problem with this
statement:

enum BooleanConstants {false=0, true=1};

Any ideas why?  Works perfectly well with two other compilers.
