Grep is available as v2gnu/grep22b.zip from the same place you get DJGPP.

In general, a ported package should say in a README which non-standard 
packages do you need to compile it.  The DJGPP FAQ lists in section 4.5 
those packages that are frequently used when building Unix-born software 
from sources; installing those packages will make sure you don't get 
caught by these cases.
