You gotta be kidding.  Any compiler will abort when it exceeds all 
available virtual memory on the machine it runs.  So, for every compiler 
and platform, there's a guaranteed case of at least one program that 
causes it to fail.

The question is how close to real cases such programs are.

Please send me the source (with all the relevant header files, so that I 
could try to compile it), and I will try to see what does it take to 
compile it.  The source you posted earlier lacked the headers, so I could 
only look at it.
