It does *not* work with gcc 2.8.1, although it does work with gcc 2.7.2.
Unfortunatly I and a lot of other people want to keep in touch with the 
latest versions.  The trouble with the cygnus port is that it is big 
(>10mb), and it conflicts with djgpp.
