There's no shortage of plans; what we need are volunteers who could
carry those plans out. ;-)

Implementing multi-processing under DPMI is a notoriously difficult
task, since DPMI spec doesn't allow you to task-switch from within a
hardware interrupt handler (such as a timer tick).  Several ideas were
discussed over the years to work around this limitation, but no ready
solutions are available yet (AFAIK).
