Subject: Computer freeze when using latest version of vim and bash as inferior shell

Hello,

I have sometimes a computer freeze when I use vim version 5.2 with the
DJGPP port of bash as inferior shell in a DOS box under Windows 95.
By the way, what is vim ?
Vim stands for Vi Improved, so it's a Vi like text editor (yes, I'm crazy
:) ). Nevertheless vim compiles out of the box with DJGPP and I used to
use it for a long time now. I never had such a problem with previous
versions of vim. Only the latest 5.2 version causes the freeze problem.

Under a DOS box with command.com as inferior shell, it seems that the
problem does not appear.

Till now, I've not discovered a regular sequence under vim wich will
systematically trig the problem. I still have the feeling that it occurs
randomly.
Sometimes I can do a complete edit session without problem, and sometimes
I get a freeze after a few seconds or when I want to save and quit.

I already send a similar message to the vim mailing list and the vim
maintainer think (and so do I) that it might be a bad interaction between
bash and vim (maybe something that vim do and that make bash crash).

So, I'm not a vim guru, nor a bash one, what can I do in order to find
what is the real problem ?

Olivier.
