Argh. There's a known bug with Allegro and S3 cards. I'm not sure if there's a fix
for it yet.

go to www.tatula.demon.co.uk/allegro for the latest info. You might try downloading
the latest WIP and subscribing to the Allegro Mailing List while you're there.
