cars != programming :-)

it's not... I don't really like that either :-)

You assume i am referring to allegro and gui design... I am not. Remember.. I
did say that it had its uses. To you, GUI design must be one of those uses.

Well, that's all I wanted to know... (And if you did think i was accusing you
of cheating, you were wrong. Nowhere in my previous message did I call anyone
a cheater for using allegro. I just don't like to use it myself (i get no
sense of accomplishment after finishing a program where i used allegro).
However if you like to use it then by all means go right I ahead, I will not
stand in your way.

  You are correct in assuming that i do not program for a living (although if
you think i do not know what it is like then you are incorrect). However
nowhere did i suggest that you or anyone else was cheating when using
allegro. It is just the way i feel about using it myself and i am sorry if
you do not like that, but that is what I think.

Oh yes... as for the "puritanical view on programming"... I couldn't care
less whether or not you or anyone else use allegro or any other libraries
when programming and, as i stated before, i even use them sometimes. And I
was just asking for an opinion, not accusations..
