If by the topic you mean that you don't want to use Allegro at all
then I can't help you.  If you just don't want to link in the
library, though, you can look at the source code to its animator,
which is in `allegro/src/fli.c', and use whatever parts you want to.
You can do just about whatever you like with Allegro's source code;
see its license information for details.
