It is possible that they have done on the Allegro Mailing List.

A Pentium 266 Hmm? That could be the reason why noone's notcied it: not many
people have got one :^)

Yes, the latest WIP had an update in the joystick routines. Make sure you've
patched it up properly and run make again. Also note that the latest WIP
will only install properly on a "fresh" copy of Allegro; that is Allegro 3.0
without any previous WIPS installed.

I have a 200MMX, and it works fine.
