g770523b.zip contains replacement of gcc.exe which can be used
to compile Fortran files (it calls f771.exe for this). You can also
use g77.exe for this. gcc281b.zip contains gcc.exe that is compiled
without Fortran support.

examples:
   gcc -c foo.f
   gcc foo.f -lg2c -lm -o foo.exe
   g77 foo.f -o foo.exe

The 2nd and 3th lines are equivalent. NOTE: g770523b.zip should be
installed AFTER gcc281b.zip

Perhaps g77.inf is not mentioned in $DJDIR/info/dir. You normally
see only those info files that are mentioned there.
