I guess that's the right way to express it, but I mean a little bit

What Eli says is a recommendation. Isn't mandatory. Is just a minimal 
limit. If you are under this limit the degradation of the speed will 
be too important.

Of course, but that doesn't invalidate what Eli says!

Ok, but: what Eli says is that normally a good ratio is .... In this 
way you don't need to go and try if that's slow or not. And that's 
from experience using djgpp programs. Eli have years of experience 
and can make recommendations about. That's all.
