hello there.
I need a new computer so I decided that this summer (if you can call it
a summer, it's a shitty weather outside :) I'll build myself a new one.
I want a PII 300. I decided for a matrox productiva card and an ASUS
main board. I want good components, but I _do_ have a budget :)
I'm thinking about 1400$ canadian (1000$ US). My problem is, first of
all, how do I make sure there won't be any hardware conflicts between
the cards on my PC? How do I make sure I have enough slots for all the
cards? Cause I want a soundcard too, a modem, a monster3D eventually
etc.
Another thing is the OS: I won't put winshit 98 on it (sorry Russ :) So
the only choice I have is NT (I will also put linux on a different
partition). Are there any hardware problems I should consider with NT?
Any software problems? Are all the win95 programs (and games) gonig to
work with it?

BTW: could I still find a sound blaster AWE32? cause I don't want a SB
16 and a AWE 64 seems too much. Any other good (and compatible) sound
cards you could reccomend?
TIA,
