Which GCC version do you have installed?  If you have GCC 2.8.2 
(gcc281b.zip and gpp281b.zip), then libstdcxx.a is in gpp281b.zip and 
should unzip into your lib subdirectory.  But if you use version 2.7.2.1, 
then it's called libstdcx.a (note the single x) and is in lgp271b.zip.
