If you can isolate the problem to a short file that triggers an error
message with 1.68 but not with 1.67, please send me that short file
and I will look into this problem.

This doesn't give enough detail to investigate.
One possible problem might be that your system has too few free memory
(run go32-v2 and report the results), and the new makeinfo uses more
memory, so it begins paging to disk.
