I wasn't replying to your response; I was replying only to your use of
profanity. If you had made the exact same reply but without the
profanity, I wouldn't have commented on it.

> Surely all insults are equal in this regard.

I don't care what your opinion is, or even if you insult someone.
Everyone has a right to their opinion, everyone makes mistakes, and
everyone is going to get corrected once in a while. This is a
basically open forum where anyone can say what they want, but that
doesn't give you the right to be rude about it.

However, you used profanity in your remarks and the other person
didn't. That's the difference. In my opinion, anyone who needs to
resort to profanity to express their thoughts, isn't thinking.
Couldn't you have simply said "gee, it works for me. I wonder what
the difference is?" instead of swearing at him? Wouldn't you have
benefited from a little cooperation?

Just because they've heard it once does not mean they need to hear it
again. *I* am "no longer young" but I don't like hearing that kind of
language. Just because some people are rude doesn't mean you have to
be. You should aspire to be *better* than the others.

> I have no problem with netiquette. As long as it is applied evenly.

It was. You used profanity, the other person did not.

I am not censoring anything. Your post was not deleted. This is not
a moderated newsgroup.

I simply ask that people on this group have a little respect and
civility towards each other.
