I run dosemu 0.66.7, which have save_rm_context patch applied
in its code. 

I don't have problems with, say, Borland tools. Slow I/O seems
to be specific to dosemu+DJGPP or (my dosemu configuration)+DJGPP
combination and programs compiled with it.
