MS-DOS 7 can be run in plain DOS mode, without loading the Windows
GUI.  When you do that, you don't have the long file name support,
since the LFN API functions implemented in the IFSMgr module which
only loads as part of Windows.  (Did you really think Uncle Bill will
let you use long file names outside of Windows for free?)
