I didn't tested 4.17 with DJGPP but development snapshot 4.16.86 a bit 
more than month ago didn't support target i[3456]86-pc-msdosdjgpp. I built
4.17 under Linux (also libgdb.a for use from RHIDE) and looks that all
works
