Perhaps You pressed Ctrl-F2 not F2
Yes it is so in 1.4 due to bug. Fixed in latest beta from Robert Hoehne
(1.4.3) and also in version on my HDD (which is based still on 1.4.1).

Yes it is so in MS-DOS version only and is not not fixed (I tested this
with version on my HDD, and I don't want to install 1.4.3 now). I tried
this under DOSEMU-0.97.6 in Linux and DOSEMU crashed together with RHIDE. 

The possible fix is disabling mouse when launching external
programs.

The first thing annoyed also me rather long time ago so I fixed it and
only later got beta version. The second thing perhaps is new.
