Subject: Static Analysis (Lint)
Mime-Version: 1.0

It looks like I now have a working set with everything I could possibly
need for DJGPP C programming. However there is on loose end I sure would
like clear up---

Is there anything in the DJGPP suite that does some sort of static analysis
like Lint?
Does the compiler or anything else do it? If not, do you know of a free
Lint somewhere?
Does it matter?

I downloaded CLINT V1.67 (shareware $35.00)--does anybody like this? I
haven't tested it yet.
I notice the Gimpel Lint is a whopping $235.00 and no free demo as far as I
can tell. I can't afford this.

Why is Lint or something like it never mentioned on the list?

Should I give a damn about "static checking" at all?

From what I have read static checking seems to be a darn good idea.

Any comments one way or the other would be appreciated.
