Subject: Can't Get GCC 2.8.0 to build?

I'm trying to rebuild GCC 2.8.0. I'm coming up with this error:

C:\DJGPP\gnu\gcc>sh djmake.sh
rm -f cxxmain.c
ln -s /DJGPP/GNU/gcc-2.80/cplus-dem.c cxxmain.c
C:/DJGPP/BIN/ln: cannot create symbolic link `cxxmain.c' to `/DJGPP/GNU/gcc-2.80
/cplus-dem.c': Improper link (EXDEV)
make.exe: *** [cxxmain.o] Error 1
C:\DJGPP\gnu\gcc>

I'm running Windows95 with +LFN=Y in my djgpp.env file.

/cplus-demo.c does exist but it is a Windows Long File Name
like cplus-~1.c. I'm at a loss as to what to do here?

To get to this point this is what I've done:

Made a separate build directory per the readme.djgpp file, I
called this directory gcc. in C:\DJGPP\GNU\. I copied
gxx.c to this build directory fixed the paths in the
djconfig.sh file per readme.djgpp, than ran:

sh djconfig.sh
sh djmake.sh

Eventually coming up with the error in the beginning of this
message.

My end goal is that I want to be able to build a cross
compiler for the Hitachi H8/300H, but first I wanted to make
sure I could build the stock files before doing any thing
else.
