I find this hard to believe, unless you have some grossly inefficent
system configuration.  Allegro took me 10 minutes to compile on a
166Mhz Pentium, and that was on Windows 95 (which usually slows things
quite a bit) while I was doing other things in other windows.  I'd
estimate that on PII333 it shouldn't take more than 5-6 minutes, even
less in plain DOS.
