Subject:	color depth in allegro

Is it possible to have color depths greater than 256 with allegro?  I am
using the following line to initialize graphics:

set_gfx_mode(GFX_AUTODETECT, 800, 600, 0, 0);

but I seem to be limitted to 256 colors.  Besides, the RGB structure is
an array of 256 objects.  Can I use 16 and 32 bit color somehow?
