Thanks. I found this line in "config.h":
#undef HAVE_LONG_FILE_NAMES
It is exactly what I was looking for.

I could have just set a certain #define in a common file and then
#undef'ed it each time I moved the code from unix, but I wanted to
avoid the manual labor. :)
