It is version 19.34, which I got from the djgpp archives as binaries.

I'm not sure I understand: is there a chance that I have an "old port" of
version 19.34 and that I could solve the problem by getting 19.34 again?

I re-read your emacs.README file in the djgpp archives, and it seems like you
did a lot to the emacs that is available at the djgpp archives.

If, for example, I went to the GNU site and downloaded version 20.2, it
wouldn't be able to use the Windows clipboard, since you added that
functionality to the version available in the djgpp archives. Am I correct
there?
