It could be, if you want to write it! If you are interested in getting
involved with this, talk to Mark (grendel AT hoth DOT amu DOT edu DOT pl) to see how
best this could be integrated with the stuff that he is working on (more
direct style console mode graphics).

Although an X version might not be too much work on top of the Linux
console code, moving it to a non-Intel platform would be a much bigger
project, because you would have to make standard C versions of all the
asm graphics routines...
