As it happens, there is a program called wMailTo by Jarle Aase (the
author of WarFTPd) that sounds like exactly what you're looking for. I'm
pretty sure the source code is available as well. Go to
http://www.jgaa.com and look through the software section. It has
commandline and interactive modes, so you could call it with system().
