This is incorrect.  First, Windows 95 supports long file names, and
the DJGPP tools do that as well when you run them from the DOS box on 
Windows 95.

And second, even on plain DOS you only need to rename files which map to 
the same name after truncation to 8+3 limits.  See my other message in 
this thread, for more details.
