I have a mother (ASUS) that supports 75 and 83 MHz but ASUS says isn't 
recomended to use these speeds.

You are wrong, the original post clearly talked about DJGPP+ALLEGRO that means 
graphics with 99% of probability and the video card speed is TOO sensitive to 
the bus speed, in some video boards a faster bus produeces an slower result 
(due to the wait states needed).
