In Allegro:
  In 8 bit modes:
    Use color 0, and use a method of blitting or whatever that does
    transparency (i.e., draw_sprite instead of blit).
  In other modes:
    Use the color red 255, green 0, blue 255, otherwise the same method.
In GRX:
  I haven't the foggiest.
