Why don't you try books? There are a number of excellent textbooks out
there that give instruction in C and C++ to anybody from the rank novice
to the advanced programmer. My personal favorite is the Waite Group's
_New C Primer Plus, 2nd edition_ (ISBN 0-672-30319-1). It also has a
C++ version.

Try to find a book that teaches you ANSI C, instead of one that focuses
on a specific compiler or a specific environment. Most of the latter
teach things that don't work on all compilers, or often don't work on
any compiler but the one they are telling you about. A lot of books
also have some rather egregious programming errors in them.

Somebody on the mailing list mentioned some sort of online programming
classes that are being offered by some university. Search the mailing
list archives (at http://www.delorie.com/djgpp/mail-archives/) to find
the relevant messages.
